Guards, Gangsters and Gunslingers

…So this place has been MAJOR neglected for the past, what, year or so? Yeah... sorry about that. :C

So, here's me ripping off the band-aid and popping up a snippet of the painting I've been doing whenever opportunity raised it's ugly head. A Slig, a gangster (Paulie from the fabulous series 'The Sopranos') and some old character designs from a hardcore western faze I went through end of last year:

Belated love, peeps, and deep head bowing to the late commenters/followers I never thanked!

Brush pen lovin'

I'm going crazy trying to force myself to write an essay for my course, which seems to have lead to intense brush pen abuse in my downtime. So why not post a few up, right?

The majority are speedies from the last couple of days, with one or two old ones. There's a Hiccup, a Seth Bullock and an attempt of the man from Cormac Mccarthy's "The Road" hidden about too!

Thank youuuu!

Marwell, animals, and mustachioed men!

So it appears this blog is embarrassingly cobwebby after that week turned into what is probably over a month now! On the bright side though, I guess that means I've actually been busy getting on with uni work, which in the long run is probably a good thing!

This update, I'm slinging up some fairly recent zoo drawings done on a trip. I completely missed the point, unfortunately, when I decided rendering crazy fast animals with a mechanical pencil was a good idea. It was super fun anyway though, and I'd love to try my hand at it all again soon!

And finally, a creeper dude I drew between animations one night a week or so ago. In retrospect, he actually kinda reminds me of Nigel Thornberry, but I swear it was totally unintentional!

Thanks, guys!

Mini sketchdump

Just a quick post before a bigger update I'm intending to make within the next week!

A few rough doodles, mostly from cafe/lecture drawing:

Cheers, people!

Owls are amazing

I have a massive backlog of art building up thanks to my major lack of posting, soooo I figured it was time for another update! I'll keep this one short, because I'm a lazy sod, but I genuinely intend to post more ASAP. Genuinely.

First, some fabulous owls and their mildly sexist handler from back up north, done over the Christmas break.

Followed by a quick sketch of my brah looking very serious about videogames.

Thanks for looking!  :D

More of the same!

dfgfdgfgdfg WHAT. Two posts in one night? Yeah boi, I'm on fire.

An attempt at a Leyendecker style self-portrait I did tonight. :I

I'm teeeerrible at self-portraits at the best of times, so posting this is slaying me, but awkward fail at likeness aside, it was super fun to do! I just need to practice with digital more, I guess? If I have time, I want to work on the hair to try to imitate that awesome shiny look he pulls off and try to push the painterly strokes, etc. more, because it's not quite... idk Leyendecker-ish enough? But I'm pretty pleased with the colour! He often does those rosy cheeked guys and cutesy gals and I don't think I'd normally push the saturation so far, so... :D

Aaaaand here's another Aztec dude because it's what cool kids draw.

Peace out! x

Leyendecker is a boss~~~

Okay, so because I'm still sat finishing my foundation drawing and KPA stuff for deadlines, I've been hidden away more than usual, which, I think you'll find, means this is the perfect time for an update!

I know, I know, I can hardly process it myself, but I promised one eventually!

So yeah, two digital painting studies of a couple of Leyendecker pieces. No, they're not perfect or polished to a finish, but I might just leave them that way.

See? I can post! :D

Anyway, hopefully I can give another update pronto, and hopefully it'll be more interesting to look at too?

Cheers dudes!

Sod it! Have an Aztec dude too!
